1TSKCOMNow the word of the L ord came to me, saying,
1TSKCOMAnd the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
1TSKCOMYahweh’s word came to me, saying,
1TSKCOMAnd the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

1TSKCOMYahovayute arulappaatu enikkundaayathenthennaal:
2TSKCOM“Son of man, ask a riddle and tell a parable to the house of Israel,
2TSKCOMEzekiel, son of man, tell the people of Israel the following story,
2TSKCOMSon of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;
2TSKCOM“Son of man, tell a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel;
2TSKCOMSon of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;
2TSKCOMമനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തോടു ഒരു കടങ്കഥ പറഞ്ഞു ഒരു ഉപമ പ്രസ്താവിക്കേണ്ടതു;

3TSKCOMsaying, ‘Thus says the Lord G od , “A great eagle (Nebuchadnezzar) with great wings, long pinions and a rich plumage of many colors came to Lebanon (Jerusalem) and took away the top of the cedar (Judah).
3TSKCOMso they will understand what I am saying to them: A large eagle with strong wings and beautiful feathers once flew to Lebanon. It broke the top branch off a cedar tree,
3TSKCOMAnd say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:
3TSKCOMand say, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “A great eagle with great wings and long feathers, full of feathers, which had various colors, came to Lebanon, and took the top of the cedar.
3TSKCOMand say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: A great eagle with great wings and long pinions, full of feathers, which had divers colors, came unto Lebanon, and took the top of the cedar:

4TSKCOMHe broke off the topmost of its young twigs (young King Jehoiachin) and carried it to a land of traders (Babylonia); he set it in a city of merchants (Babylon).
4TSKCOMthen carried it to a nation of merchants and left it in one of their cities.
4TSKCOMHe cropped off the top of his young twigs, and carried it into a land of traffick; he set it in a city of merchants.
4TSKCOMHe cropped off the topmost of its young twigs, and carried it to a land of traffic. He planted it in a city of merchants.
4TSKCOMhe cropped off the topmost of the young twigs thereof, and carried it unto a land of traffic; he set it in a city of merchants.
4TSKCOMAvan athinre ilanjchillikalute arram murichu kachavatamulloru deshathu kontuchennu, kachavatakkaarute pattanathil nattu.
5TSKCOMHe also took some of the seed of the land ( Zedekiah, of the royal family) and planted it in fertile soil and a fruitful field; he placed it beside abundant waters and set it like a willow tree.
5TSKCOMThe eagle also took a seed from Israel and planted it in a fertile field with plenty of water, like a willow tree beside a stream.
5TSKCOMHe took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow tree.
5TSKCOM“‘“He also took some of the seed of the land, and planted it in fruitful soil. He placed it beside many waters. He set it as a willow tree.
5TSKCOMHe took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful soil; he placed it beside many waters; he set it as a willow-tree.

6TSKCOMThen it sprouted and grew and became a low, spreading vine whose branches turned [in submission] toward him, but its roots remained under it. So it became a vine and yielded shoots and sent out branches.
6TSKCOMThe seed sprouted and grew into a grapevine that spread over the ground. It had lots of leaves and strong, deep roots, and its branches grew upward toward the eagle.
6TSKCOMAnd it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.
6TSKCOMIt grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and its roots were under him. So it became a vine, produced branches, and shot out sprigs.
6TSKCOMAnd it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.

7TSKCOM“There was [also] another great eagle with great wings and many feathers; and behold, this vine (Zedekiah) bent its roots toward him and sent out its branches toward him, away from the beds where it was planted, for him to water.
7TSKCOMThere was another eagle with strong wings and thick feathers. The roots and branches of the grapevine soon turned toward this eagle, hoping it would bring water for the soil.
7TSKCOMThere was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend her roots toward him, and shot forth her branches toward him, that he might water it by the furrows of her plantation.
7TSKCOM“‘“There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers. Behold, this vine bent its roots toward him, and shot out its branches toward him, from the beds of its plantation, that he might water it.

8TSKCOMIt was planted in good soil where water was plentiful for it to produce leaves and branches and to bear fruit, so that it might become a splendid vine.” ’
8TSKCOMBut the vine was already growing in fertile soil, where there was plenty of water to produce healthy leaves and large grapes.
8TSKCOMIt was planted in a good soil by great waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.
8TSKCOMIt was planted in a good soil by many waters, that it might produce branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a good vine.”’
8TSKCOMIt was planted in a good soil by many waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.

9TSKCOMThus says the Lord G od , ‘Ask, “Will it thrive? Will he (Nebuchadnezzar) not uproot it and strip off its fruit so that all its sprouting leaves will wither? It will not take a strong arm or many people to uproot it [ending Israel’s national existence]. [2 Kin 25:1-7]
9TSKCOMNow tell me, Ezekiel, do you think this grapevine will live? Or will the first eagle pull it up by its roots and pluck off the grapes and let its new leaves die? The eagle could easily kill it without the help of a large and powerful army.
9TSKCOMSay thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither? it shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots thereof.
9TSKCOM“Say, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Will it prosper? Won’t he pull up its roots, and cut off its fruit, that it may wither; that all its fresh springing leaves may wither? It can’t be raised from its roots by a strong arm or many people.
9TSKCOMSay thou, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it may wither; that all its fresh springing leaves may wither? and not by a strong arm or much people can it be raised from the roots thereof.

10TSKCOMThough it is planted, will it thrive and grow? Will it not completely wither when the east wind touches it? It will wither in the beds where it grew.” ’ ” [Hos 13:9-12, 15]
10TSKCOMThe grapevine is strong and healthy, but as soon as the scorching desert wind blows, it will quickly wither.
10TSKCOMYea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.
10TSKCOMYes, behold, being planted, will it prosper? Won’t it utterly wither when the east wind touches it? It will wither in the beds where it grew.”’”
10TSKCOMYea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the beds where it grew.
